Instagram Account Requirements
To use Instagram Messaging with Sonikit, your Instagram profile must meet Meta's account requirements.
Supported Instagram Accounts
Sonikit supports Instagram Business accounts connected through Meta's business tools.
Your Instagram profile must:
Be configured as a Business account
Be connected to a Facebook Page
Be managed through a Meta account with the appropriate permissions
Unsupported Account Types
The following account types cannot be connected to Sonikit:
Personal Instagram accounts
Business accounts that are not connected to a Facebook Page
If your account does not meet these requirements, Meta will prevent Sonikit from accessing Instagram messaging features.
How to Check Your Account Type
In Instagram:
Open your profile.
Tap the menu button.
Open Settings and Privacy.
Navigate to Account Type and Tools.
If your profile is not configured as a Business account, you'll need to switch before connecting it to Sonikit.
Facebook Page Requirements
Meta requires Instagram Business accounts to be linked to a Facebook Page.
When connecting Instagram to Sonikit, you'll be asked to select a Facebook Page and Instagram profile during authentication.
If your Instagram profile is not connected to a Facebook Page, you may not see it during the connection process.
One Instagram Profile Per Project
Each Sonikit project can have one connected Instagram profile.
If you manage multiple Instagram profiles, you can connect different profiles to different Sonikit projects.
