What is Instagram Messaging?

Instagram Messaging is a Messaging Channel that connects your Instagram profile to a Sonikit project.

Once connected, you can use Instagram as part of your Action Flows to automatically engage with fans through direct messages and other Instagram interactions.

Can I Send Instagram DMs From Sonikit?

Instagram messaging in Sonikit is designed to work with Action Flows.

You can create automations that send messages when fans:

  • Comment on a post

  • Comment on a reel

  • Reply to a story

  • Send your account a direct message

How Many Instagram Profiles Can I Connect?

Each Sonikit project supports one Instagram profile.

If you manage multiple Instagram profiles, you can connect different profiles to separate Sonikit projects.

Do I Need a Business Account?

Yes. Meta requires Instagram profiles to be configured as Business accounts and connected to a Facebook Page before they can be used with Sonikit.

Can I Disconnect Instagram Later?

Yes. To remove Instagram from a project:

  1. Open Messaging.

  2. Locate the Instagram Messaging Channel.

  3. Click Delete.

Removing the channel immediately disables Instagram messaging functionality for that project.

Will My Existing Instagram Followers Be Imported?

No. Connecting Instagram does not import your followers into Sonikit. Fan records are created when users interact with your automations or messaging experiences.

Can I Connect the Same Instagram Profile to Multiple Projects?

No. An Instagram profile can only be connected to one Sonikit project at a time.

What Happens to Existing Action Flows If I Disconnect Instagram?

Any Action Flows that rely on Instagram messaging will stop functioning until a supported Instagram profile is connected to the project again.
