How to Connect Tour Dates, Merch, and Email Sign-Ups to Your Release Page
Say your single comes out in six weeks, you have 14 shows booked for the month after it, and a hoodie and a 7-inch go up in your store the week of release. That's three sets of information changing on their own schedules: dates get added, products sell out, and every fan who signs up needs to reach your email list. If the release page depends on you copying each change over by hand, it will be out of date by week two.
Sonikit's integrations for tour listings, merch stores, and email platforms connect those sources to your project directly. By the end of this guide, your release page will pull tour dates from Bandsintown, Seated, or Songkick, show products from Shopify or Big Cartel, and send new sign-ups to Mailchimp or Klaviyo. The three setups run from quickest to most involved, and each one ends with a test so you know it works before fans see the page.
Key takeaways
- Connections belong to a project, so choose the project first; each project holds one Shopify connection.
- Tour dates connect with an artist name or ID, stores connect by signing in, and both appear on the page as page elements you place yourself.
- Automatic syncing of new sign-ups to Mailchimp or Klaviyo needs Pro or Enterprise; every plan can export fans as a CSV.
Decide which project the release lives in before you connect anything
Integrations belong to a project, not to a single page. Once you connect a service, every landing page and embed in that project can use it. Using a different account for the same service means working in a different project. That makes the project decision the first real step, especially if you manage more than one artist or more than one store. If you're unsure, read when it makes sense to create a new project.
| Your setup | How to organize projects | Projects included |
|---|---|---|
| One artist, one store, one tour listing | Keep everything in one project so every release page reuses the same connections | Basic includes 1 project |
| One artist with two Big Cartel stores (say, a band store and a solo store) | One project per store, since each project holds one Big Cartel connection | Pro includes up to 10 projects |
| A label or team managing several artists | One project per artist, each connected to that artist's own tour listing, store, and email account | Pro includes up to 10; Enterprise up to 50 |
What you'll need
- A landing page for the release. If you haven't settled its layout, plan the page so each element has one clear job before adding tour dates and products to it.
- Your tour listing identifier. That's your Bandsintown artist URL, your Seated artist ID, or your Songkick artist ID. The table in the next section shows where to find each one.
- Administrator access to your store. For Shopify, you'll also need the store's .myshopify.com domain.
- A Mailchimp or Klaviyo account and a Pro or Enterprise plan if you want sign-ups to sync automatically.
1. Pull in tour dates from Bandsintown, Seated, or Songkick
Tour integrations don't ask you to sign in to the other service. You give Sonikit an identifier from your artist profile, and it pulls your upcoming dates and ticket links from there.
With the identifier copied, connect the service and add it to your page:
- In the left sidebar of your Sonikit dashboard, click Integrations.
- Click New Integration and choose Bandsintown, Seated, or Songkick.
- Paste the artist name or ID from the table above, then click Connect.
- Open your release landing page and select the Content tab.
- Click Add Page Element, choose Tour, and select the tour integration you just connected.
- Drag the new element up or down the content list to place it. The preview on the right updates as you move it.
- Test it: compare the dates in the preview with your listing on the tour service. Every upcoming show should appear with a ticket link. Click one to confirm it opens the right show.
If the list comes up empty, check the identifier first. A Bandsintown artist URL that differs by one capital letter won't match. Correct the name or publish the profile, then connect again.
From here, a show you add on Bandsintown in week three appears on the release page without anyone editing it. For ways to turn that list into a push for specific cities, see how a synced tour page can help fill local shows.
2. Show your Shopify or Big Cartel products on the release page
Fans see the same thing whichever store you use: a product image, name, and price, with a Buy button that opens that product in your store to check out. Where the two stores differ is the connection step.
Connect Shopify
- Click Integrations in the left sidebar, find Shopify, and click Connect.
- Enter your store's .myshopify.com domain and click Connect beneath the field.
- On Shopify, review the requested permissions and click Install. Shopify sends you back to Sonikit, where it now appears in your installed integrations.
Enter the .myshopify.com domain, not your storefront address. yourstore.myshopify.com works; www.yourstore.com won't. Every Shopify store receives a myshopify.com address at signup, and you can look it up on the Domains page of your Shopify admin. Install from the Shopify account that owns the store.
Connect Big Cartel
- Click Integrations, find Big Cartel, and click Connect.
- Sign in to your Big Cartel store when you're redirected. You'll land back on Integrations with Big Cartel listed as connected.
Each project holds one Big Cartel connection, which is why the project table above puts a second store in its own project.
Add the products to your page
This reuses steps 4 and 5 from the tour setup, with a different element:
- Open the landing page, select the Content tab, and click Add Page Element.
- Choose Product List.
- Pick a layout: Column for a vertical list, Grid for several products at once, or Slider for a small set in a horizontal carousel.
- Choose your connected store, check the products for this release, and drag them into the order you want.
- Click Create.
- Test it: click Buy on each product in the preview and confirm it opens the matching product in your store.
For the six-week single, a Slider with just the hoodie and the 7-inch keeps merch visible without competing with the pre-save, which should stay the main action on the page. There's more on that balance in how to sell merch from a music landing page.
What connecting Shopify adds beyond the product list
A Shopify connection also brings in customer and purchase data. Sonikit matches Shopify customers to fans who share an email address or phone number, so a buyer who also pre-saved becomes one fan profile instead of two records. You can then build audience segments from purchase data, for example everyone who bought the 7-inch, and combine purchases with streaming behavior when deciding who hears about the next drop. If you disconnect Shopify later, syncing stops but data already imported stays in place.
3. Send new sign-ups to Mailchimp or Klaviyo
This setup needs a Pro or Enterprise plan. Once it's on, new contacts Sonikit collects are added to your connected email platform. Say 400 fans leave an email on the release page over those six weeks. Without the sync, that's an export and an import after release day, and the fans who signed up in week one wait more than a month to hear from you. On Basic, you can still download your fan list as a CSV and import it yourself.
- Click Integrations, then New Integration, and choose Mailchimp or Klaviyo. Click Connect.
- Sign in to the email platform when you're redirected and approve access. You'll return to Sonikit with the integration connected.
- Make sure the release page collects emails. If it doesn't yet, add an email field to your pre-save or a sign-up form.
- Test it: open the live page, sign up with an email address you control, and confirm the contact appears in your Mailchimp or Klaviyo account.
Authorize with the account you'll actually send from. Approving access while signed in to an old or personal account connects the wrong list. If that happens, disconnect the integration and connect again while signed in to the right account.
Keep the connections working after release day
Every connected service stays listed under Integrations. Click one to check its connection status, re-authorize it, change its settings, or disconnect it. If a sync stops unexpectedly, disconnecting and reconnecting is the first fix to try. If that doesn't clear it, message the team through Help & Support Chat in your dashboard.
Set up the connection that saves you the most work this release
You don't need all three before launch. Start with whichever source changes most often: for most artists with shows booked, that's the tour listing. Connect it, add the Tour element to your current release page, and run the test step. Then add merch and email as the release gets closer. For every setting on an existing connection, use this walkthrough on connecting and managing integrations in Sonikit.
